Clinic Update

At CAToberfest 2020, we announced the opening of our new high quality/high volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) clinic in south King County. Our first day of surgery was August 1st, 2020. Since that day, when 15 South County Cats' (SCC) foster kittens were spayed or neutered, more than 3,400 cats or kittens from nine counties have been altered at our South County Spay & Neuter Clinic. This program is funded by South County Cats and operated in collaboration with Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project (FCS/NP). We are Stronger Together! Staff from FCS/NP and volunteers from FCS/NP and SCC assemble 1-2 days/week (usually on Fridays and/or Saturdays), to spay or neuter 35-50 cats from all over the Puget Sound area.  Cats can also receive vaccinations, parasite treatment and a microchip at the time of surgery.  The South County Spay & Neuter Clinic, with safe protocols for cats and humans, is filling a critical need at this time when access to spay or neuter for pets is challenging for everyone. In addition to our Trap-Neuter-Return program, rescue/foster/spay-neuter/adoption program, this clinic has accelerated our impact in our community and beyond.  We look forward to growing this program as staffing and funding permit. Since our incorporation in 2006, 21,500+ cats have been spayed or neutered through our programs. Spay is the Way to Save Lives.

Your donation will directly support our spay and neuter programs.

Reservations for FCS/NP in Lynnwood and the South County Spay & Neuter Clinic in Renton can be made at www.feralcatproject.org

 Thank you for your support!

I would like to make a donation toward spay/neuter and clinic supplies!

We are in need of a second Bair Hugger (warming unit) for our post-op kitties. A refurbished unit costs $1,500.

We use the autoclave to sterilize surgical instruments. With 40-50 surgeries per clinic, we have to continually run the autoclave to make sure we have enough spay packs and neuter packs to get through 50 surgeries.  Our current refurbished autoclave is a workhorse, but we could use a larger autoclave so we can sterilize more packs at one time. We are hoping to raise $2,500 for a new autoclave.
