Welcome to CAToberfest 2020!  This is our 13th Annual Feline Festival and Fundraiser.  Whether you are a first-time guest or one of our regular supporters, we are so glad you are here!  While we prefer to see you in person, we are pleased that even in these challenging times, we can still get together for a good cause!

List of CAToberfest Event Activities

  • Online Auction – Generous donations turned into auction packages that you will LOVE! Please note the auction opens Thursday, October 15 at 9 AM and closes Saturday, October 17 at 9 PM.
  • Market Place – A section of the auction contains good deals on ‘buy it now’ items.
  • Fund-a-Need – See the ways you can provide meaningful support of South County Cats.
  • EduCATion – Articles and videos to help you with your cat(s) and/or cats in the community.
  • Kittens – Photos and videos of our foster kittens and their stories.
  • South County Cats – The link to our general website tells you more about our mission.

Originally, CAToberfest was described simply as ‘a Celebration of Cats’!  While that would still be appropriate, we now describe it as a ‘Feline Festival and Fundraiser’. What has not changed is the two-fold goal of the event BOTH to raise funds and to provide community education. You will notice some event features that are not related to fundraising, such as EduCATion (Speakers at our live event) and Kids’ Activities.  These are intended to share information that will become useful to you or to cats in our community. Of course, that includes information about the health and well-being of cats, the importance of spay and neuter, the plight of homeless, community cats and the purpose of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return).

Each year we feature one key message that we want to convey to everyone who attends CAToberfest. Here’s what we want you to take away from this year’s event:  “IT IS IMPORTANT TO MICROCHIP YOUR PETS, EVEN – AND ESPECIALLY – YOUR INDOOR-ONLY CATS!”  You will see this repeated and more detailed information provided throughout the event site.

Thank you for being here and please enjoy CAToberfest!

ABOUT US

Based in south King County in Washington State, South County Cats is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization.  Our mission is to reduce euthanasia rates at our local shelters.  We provide spay/neuter assistance, as well as supporting cats that fall outside the scope of many shelters – those often considered unadoptable. Our main areas of focus are:

  • Provide financial assistance for the spay/neuter of cats whose caregivers have limited financial resources.
  • Foster under-socialized cats and kittens to increase their adoptability.
  • Assist with TNR (Trap - Neuter - Return) of feral cats in south King County.
  • Educate the public about feral cats and available resources for helping feral cats coexist in our environment.
